The Chicago Cubs famously broke a 108-year championship drought when they won the 2016 World Series over the Cleveland Indians. As a way to symbolically remember the drought-breaking campaign, the Cubs championship rings will feature 108 diamonds.
Each of the Cubs' championship rings will contain 108 diamonds–1 for each of the years in the team's title drought before they won in '16.
