After an offseason of mild contention, the Dallas Cowboys and defensive back Orlando Scandrick have reportedly come to terms on a new contract.
Scandrick had been holding out of voluntary team activities this spring, lobbying for a new contract. He did come back to participate in team voluntary workouts this week as a gesture of good faith to owner Jerry Jones.
His base salary for the 2015 season was set to be just $1.5 million, but that is about to change.
Source says Cowboys CB Orlando Scandrick will sign a new deal with the team today.

That’s a significant pay raise, and it ensures Scandrick will be a happy camper this season.
Head coach Jason Garrett spoke about the defensive back this week, praising him for what he brings to the table:
“Orlando loves to play football,” Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said (h/t The Dallas Morning News). “He loves playing for the Cowboys. His great strength as a football player is his passion for the game and the edge that he plays with. So, good to see him back out there doing the work this week leading up to the OTA’s next week.”
With two interceptions in each of his last two seasons, along with three sacks, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery, Scandrick is an impact player for Dallas. He will need to continue making big plays this year in order for Dallas to make a deeper run in the playoffs and contend for a title.
