While the Dallas Cowboys will be without All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith for Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers, it now appears likely that right tackle La’el Collins will play in Week 5.
Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett announced to reporters on Friday that Collins will practice in a limited capacity. While the team will monitor him over the next 48 hours, he is expected to play on Sunday.
It’s a needed boost for a team thin on depth along the offensive line. Collins has been one of the best tackles in football this season and will help lock down any pressure brought off that side.
Green Bay’s defense boasts one of the most productive pass-rush units in the league and will likely go after backup left tackle Cameron Fleming on Sunday. Protecting Dak Prescott will be pivotal for the Cowboys to bounce back after a tough Week 4 loss in New Orleans.
