After another rough performance by Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri, the future Hall of Famer left reporters with an ominous quote following Sunday’s game hinting at retirement.
Vinatieri, who missed two extra-point attempts in Week 2 after missing three kicks in Week 1, told reporters he would see them on Monday. When reminded that the players typically have an off day following a game, Vinatieri insisted that he’ll be seen tomorrow.
It’s an indication from the 46-year-old kicker that this might be the end of his NFL career. After converting 85 percent of his field-goal attempts in each of the past two seasons and the owner of a career 84.1 percent success rate, Vinatieri now might be calling it quits after a brutal start to his 24th season in the NFL.
