The Washington Redskins will roll out an offense led by Colt McCoy this Sunday against the New England Patriots, head coach Jay Gruden announced Friday.
McCoy has been out of commission this season as he recovered from a broken leg that required multiple offseason surgeries. He returned to action recently, and after practicing without any ill effects earlier this week, he’s getting the nod over Case Keenum and rookie Dwayne Haskins.
McCoy certainly knows Gruden’s system. The question now remains, will he have any more luck executing it than Keenum and Haskins have? Both were atrocious last weekend, and now McCoy is facing one of the NFL’s most terrorizing defenses in Week 5.
Buckle up, Redskins fans. This could be another ugly game.
