Ciryl Gane landed an astounding 110 strikes in one-plus rounds, defeating Serghei Spivac by TKO at 3:44 of the second round at UFC Fight Night in Paris on Saturday.
Gane landed 48 of those punches to the head of Spivac in the heavyweight main event, Gane’s first bout since losing to Jon Jones in a title fight in March.
“I’m really happy about that, because my last fight was …” Gane said. “Today, it was my mission to prove that I’m still here.”
Gane improved to 12-2 while Spivac dropped to 16-4. Both of Gane’s losses have come in title fights.
In the co-main event, flyweight Manon Fiorot (11-1) won a unanimous decision over Rose Namajunas (11-6).
