In news that can’t be too good for the Kansas City Chiefs heading into Sunday’s AFC Divisional Playoff game, star defensive tackle Chris Jones will be inactive.
Jones is dealing with a calf injury and was questionable heading into the game against the Houston Texans.
Now that he’s inactive, one major advantage the Chiefs had can be thrown out the window.
A first-time Pro Bowler this season, Jones has recorded 49 quarterback hits and 24.5 sacks since the start of the 2018 campaign.
With Houston continually struggling to protect Deshaun Watson, the hope was that Jones would be active and able to make an impact.
Now that this is not the case, Kansas City has to rely on others to put pressure on Watson and limit Houston’s passing attack if it wants to earn a trip to the AFC Championship Game against the Tennessee Titans.
