Patrick Mahomes recently made headlines when a video of him on a basketball court started circulating, because my goodness he can hoop.
Well, one person who saw said video was not amused. Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Leach saw his quarterback trying to emulate Stephen Curry and said, “oh, heck no.”
In an appearance with Soren Petro of Sports Radio 810, Veach said he called Mahomes’ agent to make sure they understand he can’t do that.

One wonders if there is language in Mahomes’ contract with Kansas City that removes guarantees if he were to get injured while doing such an activity. Many players do have those types of stipulations in their contracts, for good reason.
Regardless, it’s clear the Chiefs don’t want him risking his body outside of football. The MVP is understandably just too valuable to them.
