If Los Angeles Chargers star cornerback Jason Verrett didn’t have bad luck, he wouldn’t have any luck at all.
That’s not hyperbole. Since entering the league as a first-round pick back in 2014, Verrett has missed 39 of a possible 64 games to injury. Over the past two seasons alone, the former Pro Bowler has played in a grand total of five games.
Sadly, Verrett’s injury-plagued career took another turn on on Friday. As Verrett was taking part in a conditioning test during Chargers report day, he suffered what’s being described as a season-ending injury.
Sources: Nightmare again for the #Chargers, as CB Jason Verrett suffered an injury during the conditioning test that likely will cost him the season. Brutal luck on reporting day.

This is just horrible luck for both Verrett and his Chargers. The team threw out one of the best defenses in the NFL last season with Verrett having played just one game. Los Angeles was expecting to take that one step further with the former TCU star back on the field this season. Alas, it’s not to be.
