Los Angeles Chargers star defensive end Joey Bosa was seen in a walking boot during practice on Friday. That was a clear indication that the third-year Pro Bowler would be forced to miss Los Angeles’ Week 1 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
In what can’t be considered surprising news, Bosa has now in fact been ruled out for the game.

This could be a devastating blow for the Chargers as they look to start the season on a high note against the defending AFC West champion Kansas City Chiefs. One now also has to wonder whether Bosa’s foot injury is more of the long-term variety. He initially suffered the foot injury back in early August.
A first-round pick of the team back in 2016, Bosa has recorded 23 sacks over his first two NFL seasons. With him sidelined, Los Angeles will be relying more on Melvin Ingram to put pressure on young Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes come Sunday.
