Baker Mayfield. Check.
Kyler Murray. Check.
Jalen Hurts. Check.
What Oklahoma head football coach Lincoln Riley has been able to do with his quarterbacks in Norman is something else.
Top recruit and redshirt freshman signal caller Spencer Rattler is no different. Taking over for Hurts, who was selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft this past April, the Arizona native was out there slinging it against Missouri State Saturday evening in his first college start.
It was something else. Rattler completed each of his first seven passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns before 10 minutes had even been played. That included a 58-yard touchdown pass to true freshman Marvin Mims.
It might not be the stiffest of competition. In fact, there’s not even a point spread for this game.
Even then, Rattler’s early performance in his college football debut had those on social media talking big time.
