CenturyLink Adding 1,000 New Seats to Stadium

According to The Seattle Times, CenturyLink will have 1,000 additional seats by the time the 2015 NFL season kicks off.

When CenturyLink opened in 2002, it was the only NFL stadium designed with field-level suites. Now, Lucas Oil Stadium, MetLife Stadium and Levi’s Stadium have followed this design pattern. 13 years later, CenturyLink begins its first major expansion in seating. To occupy one of these new seats in 2015, you will need to be a season-ticket owner. Keeping these seats exclusive to season-ticket holders will put a small dent in the 12,000 currently on the waiting list for season tickets.

These padded seats will also have private access to the Toyota Fan Deck, an area partially covered that boasts an outdoor fireplace and multiple big screen TV’s that broadcast the NFL’s Red Zone Channel.

The price tag for the expansion will cost approximately $5-8 million and is planned to be completed by the time the 2015 NFL begins.

Will the noise be louder and will the average price of a ticket increase due to the expansion? Yes is probably the answer to at least one of these questions.
