The NBA fined Boston Celtics forward-center Al Horford $25,000 on Sunday for making “unnecessary and excessive” contact with Orlando Magic center Moritz Wagner’s lower body.
The incident occurred with 10:39 left in the third quarter of Orlando’s 117-109 win at Boston on Friday night.
Horford was assessed a Flagrant Foul 2 and ejected from the game.
Horford, 36, is averaging 10.0 points and 6.2 rebounds in 21 games (all starts) this season.
The five-time All-Star has career averages of 13.6 points and 8.1 rebounds in 971 games (961 starts) with the Atlanta Hawks (2007-16), Celtics (2016-19, 2021-present), Philadelphia 76ers (2019-20) and Oklahoma City Thunder (2020-21).
