Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was ruled out of Saturday’s Game 3 of the first-round series with the Miami Heat due to his lower back contusion.
It is the second straight contest that the two-time league MVP has missed. He was hurt in Game 1 after falling to the court due to a collision.
“He’s just not ready to go,” Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer said prior to Game 3. “I don’t think it’s always a linear thing. He’s not in a place where he can go. We’ll continue to monitor him, work with him and hope for the best.”
Antetokounmpo had averages of 31.1 points and 11.8 rebounds in 63 regular-season games.
The teams split the first two games of the Eastern Conference series. Game 4 is Monday night at Miami.
