Baker Mayfield has seen his first bit of NFL action. The No. 1 overall pick debuted in the second quarter of Thursday’s game against the New York Jets.

While Tyrod Taylor struggled through the first half, Mayfield is replacing him with an injury. Taylor left the game and entered the concussion protocol.
Like clockwork, Mayfield went on to complete 3-of-4 passes for 47 yards en route to leading Cleveland to a field goal. It was the team’s first points of the game. Mayfield’s 39 net passing yards represented 42 more than Taylor had on 14 pass attempts.
At the very least, Browns fans got their wish here.
