Josh Rosen was benched after three quarters of miserable play Sunday against the Washington Redskins, but he’s expected to start in Week 7.
Speaking to the media Monday, Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores said he anticipates Rosen will be the guy under center.
“I thought Fitz played really well when he went int here. I anticipate Josh being the guy but we’re going to do what’s best for the team. We’ll see how this goes in practice,” Flores said, per Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald.
During Sunday’s loss to Washington, Rosen completed 15-of-25 passes but netted just 55 yards and threw two interceptions. Once Ryan Fitzpatrick came in to replace him in the fourth quarter, Miami’s offense perked up and nearly came back to win.
However, Fitzpatrick had his chance early in the season and fared no better than Rosen. Now, the Dolphins must find out if Rosen has the potential to be “the guy” going forward. Though, that’s a tough read because the team’s offensive line is a train wreck.
