No matter how much Green Bay Packers’ tight end Brandon Bostick replays the events of a play gone wrong against the Seattle Seahawks, the result won’t change.
In an onside kick by Seattle that should have landed the ball in Green Bay’s possession in the fourth quarter, Bostick’s attempt at catching the ball instead of adhering to his blocking duties, ended up in a tipping that landed in the hands of Seattle Seahawks’ receiver Chris Matthews.
Speaking up on the play that can be largely attributed to Green Bay’s loss, Bostick shared these comments (via PackersNews.com).
I’m human. I made a mistake. But if I would’ve made the play, we wouldn’t have been in this (situation) or if I would’ve made the block, we wouldn’t be talking about this. But it’s over now, so I’ll just try my best to get over it.
At least the words of support and encouragement by his teammates has helped Bostick feel a little less burdened by the whole incident.
It definitely means a lot. I’m at a low point right now. The whole world is on my back about this thing, but my teammates are here to pick me up. They know it’s just a mistake, and they’ve been on my side.
While the loss of a game shouldn’t fall on the shoulders of just one player, Bostick has to be feeling pretty lousy about how the game went down. Other plays went awry for the Packers, but the botched onside kick starring Bostick will stand out as the most obvious.
