A huge new report offers up major details on what fighters will be targeted for Dana White’s new boxing league, and how much they will get paid.

For years, UFC boss Dana White suggested he would like to eventually get into the boxing game. The sport was one of his first loves and the industry he began his combat sports career in. However, as the years passed most assumed it would never happen.

But Hell finally froze over this month when White revealed a partnership with powerful Saudi Arabian promoter Turki Alalshikh to create a boxing promotion that will mirror the style and format of the UFC. Following the announcement, there has been a great deal of speculation about what fighters will be paid in the new venture that will begin next year.

Well, it seems that fighter pay scales in this new promotion will also be very similar to the UFC.

Base pay in Dana White’s new boxing promotion will be $20,000

This week, Boxing Scene posted a huge report with major details on the under-construction promotion. One of the most notable nuggets of information revealed from documents they had obtained or intel from sources was about what fighters would be paid. The breakdown can be found below:

  • $20,000 for a 10-round bout by an unranked fighter
  • $50,000 when ranked by “the company” at No. 5 to No. 10
  • $125,000 when ranked by the company at No. 3 to No. 4
  • $375,000 when challenging for “company” championship
  • $750,000 when defending “company” championship

This pay scale falls in line with what made the UFC a billion-dollar combat sports giant. By keeping athlete compensation manageable, it helped the brand grow into an international force. However, a long-time complaint of fighters and fans has been about how unfair wages were for athletes. That likely will be an issue for this new venture as well compared to what many other fighters in the sport are earning.

Due to their rumored pay scale, Boxing Scene claims many around the sport expect Dana White and his team to target young up-and-coming fighters and turn them into stars. Instead of signing big-name fighters. In an interview last week, White claimed they are hoping to sign around 150 fighters to the company.

If fighters want to sign up, the report claims they will have to commit to a three-year deal, and must stay with the company for at least two of those years. They will also be given a chance to fight every five months — in theory.
