Philadelphia 76ers rookie Ben Simmons is out of this world. The first-year player joined Michael Jordan on an exclusive list earlier in the playoffs. And now, following a triple-double performance in a win over Miami on Saturday, Simmons continues to make his mark around the Association.
By virtue of putting up 17 points, 13 boards and 10 assists in Philadelphia’s Game 4 win, Simmons becomes just one of five rookies in NBA history to net a triple-double in his first playoff appearance. Said company includes Hall of Famers Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson.

Yeah, that’s a pretty impressive list right there.
While Simmons did turn the ball over a whopping seven times, his performance was enough for Philadelphia to take a 3-1 series lead over Miami with a 106-102 win in South Beach. The former No. 1 overall pick is now averaging 19.3 points, 10.8 rebounds and 9.8 assists in the series.
