Baker Mayfield voted NFL Rookie of the Week for Week 3

Thanks to his outstanding performance last Thursday night, Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield has been voted the NFL Rookie of the Week for Week 3.

Mayfield was brought in just before the first half was about to end. At that point, the Browns were down 14-0 to the New York Jets, and the offense had not been able to generate any momentum whatsoever.

Then Mayfield drove his team into field-goal range before the half, and kicker Greg Joseph finally got them on the board. From that moment on, Mayfield took the game over, leading Cleveland to its first win in 635 days.

The rookie was on fire, completing 17-of-23 passes for 201 yards. The Browns outscored the Jets 18-3 in that second half, and for the first time in decades, the city of Cleveland finally has some real hope for the future.
