Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog is expected to miss two weeks due to a lower-body injury, coach Jared Bednar announced Sunday.
Landeskog sustained the injury during the second period of Colorado’s 7-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Friday. He extended his point streak to a career-high 10 games (three goals, 10 assists) with an assist on Nathan MacKinnon’s goal early in the second period.
The 29-year-old Landeskog has 27 points (nine goals, 18 assists) in 22 games this season. He signed an eight-year, $56 million contract extension in July.
Landeskog has 539 points (227 goals, 312 assists) in 709 career games. He won the Calder Trophy (top rookie) in 2011-12 immediately after the Avalanche selected him with the second overall pick in the 2011 NHL Draft.
