The Arizona Diamondbacks activated center fielder Ketel Marte from the injured list prior to Saturday night’s home game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Marte hasn’t played since June 26 due to a strained left hamstring.
The Diamondbacks optioned infielder Andrew Young to Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move.
Marte is batting .370 with four homers and 21 RBIs this season but has played in just 37 games.
He missed time with a right hamstring injury from April 8-May 18. Just over a month later, Marte injured the left hamstring against the Milwaukee Brewers on June 22 and sat out two games before injuring it further during the first inning of a game against the San Diego Padres and subsequently going on the IL.
The 2019 All-Star is in his fifth season with Arizona. He is batting .296 with 57 homers and 207 RBIs in 452 games during that span.
Young is batting .228 with six homers and 14 RBIs in 45 games with Arizona.
