Las Vegas Aces guard Jackie Young headlines a list of six competitors participating in the WNBA’s 3-point contest, the league announced Thursday.
Young, who is shooting a league-best 48.5 percent from beyond the arc, joins fellow guards Sabrina Ionescu (New York Liberty), DiJonai Carrington (Connecticut Sun), Kelsey Mitchell (Indiana Fever), Arike Ogunbowale (Dallas Wings) and Sami Whitcomb (Seattle Storm) in the event on Friday.
Ionescu ranks second in the WNBA with 54 made 3-pointers, trailing only Jewell Loyd (66) of the Seattle Storm.
Ionescu joins Young and Carrington as first-time participants in the event. Mitchell, Ogunbowale and Whitcomb are competing in their second 3-point shooting contest.
The 3-point contest and skills challenge will be held in Las Vegas.
