The NFL world is waiting to see what Aaron Rodgers’ next move will be.
The New York Jets released the 41-year-old quarterback after two tumultuous seasons with the team. The Jets had Super Bowl aspirations after landing Rodgers in a blockbuster trade from the Green Bay Packers, but those dreams turned into a nightmare.
Four plays into the 2023 season, Rodgers tore his Achilles on Monday Night Football. He came back in 2024 but was a shell of himself. Though he managed to throw for nearly 4,000 yards and 28 touchdowns, his mobility was clearly compromised. The future Hall of Famer absorbed 40 sacks and averaged only 6.7 yards per pass attempt — his lowest mark since 2015.
Despite the drama and baggage he can bring to a team, Rodgers still has suitors for the 2025 season.
Here’s where things stand with Rodgers’ future.
NFL insider: Aaron Rodgers has standing offers from two teams

ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler reported on “SportsCenter” that Rodgers has standing offers from two teams — the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants.
“Aaron Rodgers has standing offers from the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants. Those appear to be the two key players here,” noted Fowler.
The Minnesota Vikings were reportedly flirting with the idea of bringing Rodgers onboard, but Fowler reported that is “probably unlikely” as they want to continue developing 2024 first-round pick J.J. McCarthy, who missed all of last season due to a torn meniscus in his right knee.
Fowler did reveal, though, who the likely winner of the Rodgers sweepstakes will be.
“Rodgers, as far as I know, is still mulling these offers and has not made any firm determination yet. I don’t get the sense that this is all about money here. It’s about surroundings, it’s about the ability to win,” said Fowler. “Most of the people around the league do expect the Steelers to prevail here because they have the better on-field product.”
The Steelers do make the most sense as they have a solid foundation with head coach Mike Tomlin, who hasn’t posted a losing season in 18 years at the helm. Rodgers would have two talented wide receivers to throw to in newly acquired DK Metcalf and playmaker George Pickens. As for the Giants, head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen are on the hot seat as they try to turn the franchise around following two disappointing seasons that saw the team go a combined 9-25.
