Due to blizzard-like conditions on the east coast, the murder trial of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez will now start on Thursday.
A jury of 18 people (13 women and five men) was seated on Monday, but the judge decided to push back the actual start of the case until Thursday because the region is expected to see a record amount of snowfall over the next couple days.
Hernandez is facing charges that he and two accomplices murdered former semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd back in June of 2013. The two other individuals, Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace, will be tried separately.
Buffalo Bills linebacker Brandon Spikes and Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Mike Pouncey are two individuals on the government list of over 300 potential witness. A list that also includes Patriots owner Robert Kraft and head coach Bill Belichick.
Interestingly enough, the trial is going to coincide with New England’s matchup with the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX this upcoming Sunday.
