4 Zoomers continued the momentum they gained Saturday when they dispatched Arkosh Gaming in straight victories, sweeping away Wildcard Gaming 2-0 on Tuesday to kick off Week 6 of the DPC North America: ESL One Winter event.
The primarily American team was able to improve its record to 4-3, while leaving Wildcard also 4-3, creating a tie for fourth place in the standings. If Team Undying and Evil Geniuses both lose Wednesday, it will create a four-way tie for second behind undefeated Quincy Crew.
The first battle of the day was the more prolonged one, as 4 Zoomers managed to prevail while playing on red in 48 minutes. The second game went by quicker, with 4 Zoomers taking it in 30 minutes while playing on green.
Guilherme “Costabile” Silva Costabile of Brazil paced the winners with a kills-deaths-assists ratio of 8.5-0.5-15.5.
Wildcard Gaming was led by Jose Esau “esK” Perez Coronel of Mexico, who posted a K-D-A of 9.0-3.5-4.5.
Both teams have locked up top-six standing, ensuring that neither will be relegated to Division II. The question of relegation will also be resolved Wednesday, as Arkosh will have to defeat Undying to tie simply TOOBASED in the standings and avoid joining Black N Yellow in relegation.
Week 6 action will conclude Wednesday with Arkosh Gaming vs. Undying, followed by Evil Geniuses taking on Quincy Crew.
