PROP PICKS
–Viktor Hovland to Beat Matt Fitzpatrick (+105 at DraftKings): This tournament matchup pits the top two ranked players in the field, who are both teeing it up for the first time since the Tournament of Champions. While Fitzpatrick did finish T6 last year, Hovland has a deeper track record at Pebble Beach. He is in the event for the first time since his rookie season in 2020 (T38), but Hovland won the 2018 U.S. Amateur at Pebble Beach and finished T12 at the U.S. Open as the low amateur the following year.

–Will Gordon to Miss Cut (+150 at BetMGM): After losing his PGA Tour card in 2021, Gordon returned to the Korn Ferry Tour. A three-event stretch last summer with a win and a pair of T5 helped Gordon regain his card and he made eight consecutive cuts to start this season, highlighted by a T3 at Mayakoba. However, he has fallen into a rut since the tour returned to the mainland from Hawaii, missing the cut at The American Express and the Farmers Insurance Open the past two weeks. Gordon did finish post a top-25 in his lone previous Pebble Beach start.

–Joel Dahmen to Win Tournament 3-Ball (+185 at DraftKings): While Justin Rose (+155) and Thomas Detry (+185) have been grinding as they play for the third consecutive week, Dahmen is teeing it up for the first time since The RSM Classic in November. A T5 there was his third consecutive top-10 result. The long layoff is a bit of a red flag, but Dahmen knows his way around these tracks, including a T6 last year.

2023 Prop Picks Record: 4-5-1

BEST BETS
–Matt Fitzpatrick (+200 at BetMGM) is the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 10 as he tees it up for the first time since a T7 at Kapalua. After opening at +800, Fitzpatrick’s odds lengthened slightly as has drawn modest support with 3.2 percent of the total bets and 4.0 percent of the money.
–Jordan Spieth (+225) won the event in 2017 and has six top-10s, including finishing second last year after holding a two-shot lead with four holes to play. He’s second in the field with 6.6 and 7.6 percent of the action, respectively.
–No. 11 Viktor Hovland (+225) scuffled to a T18 at the TOC but did win his prior event at the Hero World Challenge and has enjoyed outstanding success at Pebble Beach in the past.
–Tom Hoge (+400) seeks to become the first player to successfully defend at the event since Dustin Johnson in 2010. He has three top-10s in nine starts this season, and has been backed by 4.8 percent of the money this week.
–Maverick McNealy (+400) is still seeking his first tour victory, but two of his four career top-fives have come at Pebble Beach. That has led him being BetMGM’s biggest liability this week, as McNealy leads with 6.8 percent of the tickets and 16.7 percent of the money.
–Seamus Power (+400) is the only player in the field with a win this season, which came at the Bermuda Championship in October. He’s the second-biggest liability and was third in both tickets (6.2 percent) and money (7.1 percent).
–Beau Hossler (+6600) has been a popular long shot this week. He finished third last year and is the third biggest liability this week with 2.6 and 3.7 percent of the action, respectively.

–Five-time tour winner J.B. Holmes will make the second of his 26 starts on a Major Medical Extension. He needs to earn 288.816 FedEx Cup points to retain his tour card.
