Just hours before ESPN and NFL Network are set to kick off their coverage for the 2020 NFL Draft, ESPN’s draft analyst Todd McShay announced he would not be part of the coverage after coming down with the coronavirus.
McShay, who covers the NFL and college football for ESPN, has been an integral part of the network’s draft coverage for years. He joined ESPN in 2006 as an analyst and has been involved in the network’s draft coverage for more than a decade.
The 43-year-old was going to play a significant role in ESPN’s shared draft coverage with NFL Network. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the competing networks to combine their shows with analysts working from home and at ESPN’s headquarters in Bristol.
While football fans won’t get to see McShay and Mel Kiper debate prospects and picks, the friends have a $5,000 bet on the NFL Draft with the loser giving the money to the Jimmy V Foundation.
