The Detroit Lions are bringing back wide receiver Danny Amendola on a one-year contract, per FOX Sports’ Peter Schrager.
Amendola joined the Lions this past offseason and immediately stepped in as a nice complementary receiver for Detroit’s offense. The 34-year-old hauled in 62 receptions for 678 receiving yards and averaged 10.9 yards per catch.
In his 11th NFL season, Amendola still showed off some impressive abilities. He threw a nice trick-play touchdown pass for the second year in a row and made one of the best catches of the 2019 season.
Amendola will return to his role as this team’s slot receiver and gives Matthew Stafford another nice target for the 2020 season.
