NFL world blasts proposed new playoff format

It looks like ongoing talks between the NFL and NFLPA surrounding a new collective bargaining agreement are heating up.

One of the items included is an expansion of the regular season to 17 games. Meanwhile, it appears that both sides are in agreement to add a seventh team in each conference to the playoffs.

Under this new format, only only team in each conference would have a first-round bye. It’s kind of crazy given that the current format seems to be working just fine.

The NFL world apparently agrees with that sentiment.

Alternative proposal from the @NFL pushed for by ownership is for all 32 teams to make the playoffs in a 64 team March Madness-style tourney, the 1st round played vs packs of wild animals. This would make for great, bankable TV drama or something & really increase viewer interest

32 teams, 16 games, 12 playoff teams, eight divisions, two conferences. Everything about the NFL schedule fits perfectly as-is. No need to change it!

If the NFL gets 2 extra playoff teams and 17 games, the players better get some freaking money/better benefits. Like 50/50. We accept all the risk and all of these additions benefit the owners pockets mightily.
