Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Mike Clevinger is reportedly scheduled to have knee surgery on Friday after tearing his meniscus earlier this week.
Zach Meisel of The Athletic reported the news Friday morning, noting Clevinger has a partial tear of the medial meniscus on his left knee — an injury sustained while training this week — ans is on crutches. He also notes that a timetable for the pitcher’s return will be established after his surgery.
Clevinger, 29, is coming off a very impressive 2019 campaign that saw him go 13-4 with a 2.71 ERA, 1.06 WHIP with 169 strikeouts and just 37 walks in 126 innings of work.
