A day after legendary coach Bill Cowher learned he was a Hall of Famer, the NFL delivered another heartwarming moment on Sunday when former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson learned he would be the 328th member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Johnson, who won two Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys, became emotional the moment he was approached by David Baker. As the words came out, Johnson couldn’t help but year up upon learning he was a Hall of Famer.
The 76-year-old has been an incredible television analyst, but he was an even better football coach throughout his career. He worked with multiple Hall of Famers, including Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith, and now will be joining them in the most iconic club in football.
Fittingly, Aikman was calling Sunday’s NFC playoff game and his reaction to the news was captured perfectly.
It was an incredible moment to watch and the honor is well deserved.
