A woman was among those who was blasted on the sideline Saturday night, right before players from Virginia and Clemson got into a heated scrum.
Virginia quarterback Bryce Perkins was forced out of bounds, perhaps a bit too aggressively. As he and the defender ran toward people on the sideline, a woman and the man standing next to her were bowled over — thankfully both appeared to be okay.
That’s when many of Perkins’ teammates rushed to his defense and things got testy, with players from both teams getting aggressive with pushing and shoving.
Really, it’s a testament to both teams that this situation didn’t spiral out of control and devolve into a full-blown brawl.
