The Washington Nationals needed a boost, already down 2-0, in the top of the second inning in Game 1 of the World Series. Ryan Zimmerman provided it with a blast to center off Gerrit Cole.
Zimmerman hit a 413-foot home run to dead center field that Cole knew was gone the moment it left his opponent’s bat.
This was a huge swing for the Nationals, and pulled the visiting team to within one run of this all-important Game 1 of the 2019 World Series.
