Syracuse fell for a trick play in a big way Friday night at home against Pitt, which scored a way-too-easy touchdown in the first quarter.
Faking a sweep, the running back lateraled back to quarterback Kenny Pickett, who had no problem finding Aaron Matthews downfield for the 43-yard touchdown.
There wasn’t an Orange defender anywhere near Matthews, who could have walked into the end zone if he wanted to. This score gave Pitt an early 10-3 lead over Syracuse.
