Joe Burrow had just been sacked on second down, bringing up 3rd-and-17 with under three minutes left in the fourth quarter against Texas. The Longhorns brought the heat once again on third down, and it appeared Burrow would be brought down for a second consecutive play.
The LSU gunslinger had different ideas. Escaping pressure, he slid to his left and then found Justin Jefferson on a slant as he was being taken to the turf. Jefferson broke a tackle and romped 61 yards for a massive score.
This was Burrow’s fourth touchdown pass of the game, and after converting a two-point conversion LSU went up by two touchdowns, 45-31.
Afterward, he trolled Texas fans by waving goodbye from the sideline.
To deliver like this in the clutch is how legends are made. Burrow is quickly developing one of his own.
