The Green Bay Packers signed safety Adrian Amos away from the Chicago Bears with the hope he’d bring the same type of impact to their defense. He did just that in the biggest moment against his former team.
Chicago’s offense sat inside the 20-yard line with a chance to strike for the game-tying touchdown with two minutes left. Instead, Amos made the play of the night with an interception in the end zone to shut down Chicago’s hopes of a comeback.
While Amos entered the season with only three career interceptions in 60 games, he earned a reputation as one of the smartest defensive backs in the NFL with playmaking instincts.
He delivered upon that skillset in the season opener and the Packers have to be enjoying the early rewards from their big offseason signing.
