His Tampa Bay Buccaneers might have dropped a hotly contested affair against the New York Giants on Sunday, but free-agent signing Shaquil Barrett continues to dominate.
A former undrafted free agent, Barrett recorded four sacks and 14 total pressures of Giants rookie quarterback Daniel Jones. Those 14 pressures are more than both of Barrett’s former teams have recorded through three games.
Barrett now has eight sacks in three games and is clearly on pace to break the single-season mark. Remember, he recorded three sacks of Cam Newton in the Bucs’ Week 2 win over Carolina.
Signed to a mere one-year, $4 million deal back in March, Barrett has already proved his worth.
Meanwhile, Barrett’s former Broncos squad has zero sacks in three games. That’s insane given the presence of both Von Miller and Bradley Chubb in Denver.
