Adam Engle sacrificed his body to make a tremendous catch Tuesday as the Chicago White Sox took on the Detroit Tigers.
Streaking toward the center-field wall, Engle hauled in a deep shot from JaCoby Jones. Then, he crashed hard into the wall and was in obvious discomfort after suffering the blow.
Being the tough guy he is, Engle not only held onto the ball but put his glove up for all to see. That effort likely robbed Jones of an easy extra-base hit, and it’s one his teammates will appreciate big time.
