Jerry Jones has great analogy for contract talks with star players

Jerry Jones

The Dallas Cowboys are having themselves one eventful summer. Owner Jerry Jones and Co. currently find themselves in contract extension talks with star offensive players Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper.

To say it’s not going well would be an understatement. Prescott is said to be demanding about $35 million annually. Elliott remains a holdout from training camp. Meanwhile, there has not been much news on the Cooper front.

In talking about juggling negotiations with three star players at the same time, Jones had one heck of an analogy to offer up.

Um. We’re not even sure where to start with this one. Jones knows his anatomy. That’s probably a good thing if he’s sitting here comparing contract talks to nearly severed hands.

We do understand the point. Jones is a veteran. He’s negotiated many lucrative contracts in his career as the Cowboys’ owner. Armchair pundits haven’t.

Even then, this is one grotesque and detailed way to get a rather simple point across.

No word yet on whether Jones went with his now infamous glory hole quote, too.
