After the NFL conditionally reinstated New England Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon on Friday, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick released a statement on the star wide receiver’s nearing a return.
Belichick’s statement makes it clear that Gordon still isn’t guaranteed to rejoin the team immediately and the team is still evaluating the situation.
As part of his reinstatement, Gordon still must meet certain requirements before the NFL will fully reinstate him and he can return to practice and play for the Patriots. When he is fully reinstated, then Belichick and New England’s front office will evaluate his situation and make a decision from there.
New England’s structure and stability provided by Belichick should be the surroundings Gordon needs to get back on the field. Now we just need to wait and see how both sides progress from this point on.
