By now, everyone knows that Antonio Brown loves his helmet and is loathe to use any other than his preferred model, the Schutt AiR Advantage. But there is apparently even more to this story than anyone realized.
Rich Eisen, speaking about this on “The Rich Eisen Show” Monday, shared what he’s heard about the helmet after speaking with league sources.
“He has his original helmet, from what I have been told, since the minute it was issued to him from Pittsburgh and he brought it with him to Oakland,” Eisen said. “And as a matter of fact, I’ve been told he takes his helmet home with him. This is how much he loves this helmet.”
That sort of puts this all into perspective a bit more, doesn’t it? Brown is seriously attached to this thing, and now the NFL has said he cannot use it.
He’s been so upset about this that he ditched the Oakland Raiders for a week during training camp, then came back after losing a battle with the league, only to leave once more in anger over the situation.
At this point, however, the superstar receiver only really has one option, and that’s to move on with the times.
