Former NBA MVP Russell Westbrook played his first 11 NBA seasons in an Oklahoma City Thunder uniform.
In fact, his rookie campaign represented the Thunder’s first in OKC after relocating from Seattle. Needless to say, he’s a fixture within the organization.
Officially announced as the newest member of the Houston Rockets following a trade earlier this month, Westbrook met with the media on Friday. He also wore a Rockets jersey. It’s all sorts of weird.
We know Thunder fans are going to be all up in their feels. For good reason. Even more so than Kevin Durant, Westbrook is synonymous with the organization.
It’s also weird for the outsider. Westbrook in a Rockets uniform doesn’t look natural. It’s as simple as that.
