Second baseman Jonathan Schoop got the Minnesota Twins on the board on Wednesday and did so in rather impressive fashion.
In the bottom of the third inning, Schoop took Collin McHugh deep for a 465-foot home run. Per MLB Stats, it was the Twins longest home run in two years.
That was definitely not a wall scraper.
We can’t imagine anyone up there was expecting to get a ball. Certainly not outside of batting practice, anyway. It’s not often that we see home runs reach the upper deck at Target Field.
But Schoop got every bit of that one.
