It only seemed to be a matter of time before the Tennessee Titans guaranteed that All-Pro offensive tackle Jack Conklin would remain with the team through the 2020 season.
That’s no longer the case. According to this shocking report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Titans have decided against picking up the fifth-year option on Conklin’s rookie deal.
This means that the former top-10 pick will have an opportunity to hit free agency next March.
Conklin, 24, has started all 41 games in which he’s appeared since being the No. 8 selection back in 2016. The Michigan State product earned All-Pro honors as a rookie.
However, injuries have impacted Conklin more recently. He suffered a torn ACL back in the 2018 playoffs before missing all but nine games to injury last season.
