The Cincinnati Reds made the interesting decision to release three-time All-Star outfielder Matt Kemp on Saturday.
Kemp, 34, had been on the injured list after suffering a broken rib early in the season.
Acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers in the blockbuster Yasiel Puig trade, Kemp struggled big time before suffering said injury. He was hitting at a .200 clip with a .210 OBP in 20 games.
It remains to be seen where Kemp might land. But there’s going to be interest in a veteran that hit .290 with 21 homers en route to an All-Star appearance last season.
