The day is finally here. After calling up top prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the Toronto Blue Jays new star is just hours away from making his MLB debut. Before the game starts, Guerrero Jr. took the field and let everyone see his massive power during his first batting practice with the MLB club.
Needless to say, the 20-year-old third baseman left quite the impression on those in attendance. From the moment he made contact and launched the baseball into the sky, ESPN’s Dan Schulman let out an “oh my god”.
Guerrero Jr. will be batting in the cleanup spot for the Blue Jays during tonight’s game in the opener of a three-game homestead against the Oakland Athletics.
The hype is real for the game’s top prospect and MLB knows it. Tonight’s game is MLB.tv’s “Free Game of the Day” and the Rogers Centre is sure to be packed with fans excited to see what they hope is the next generational talent in Toronto’s lineup.
