After going through an injury scare with reigning Cy Young winner Jacob deGrom, the New York Mets will welcome him back to the rotation on Friday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Return: deGrom will return to the mound against the Brewers more than a week after he Wass reportedly headed for an MRI due to issues in his pitching elbow.
deGrom will take the mound looking to rebound after his two most recent disastrous starts. The 30-year-old righty saw his quality start streak snapped with consecutive poor outings against the Minnesota Twins and Atlanta Braves.
The return of New York’s top pitcher is welcome as the team looks to stay atop the N.L. East, despite having the worst run differential (-12) among division leaders.
