Baylor star guard Makai Mason might have seen his former Yale team go down in the NCAA Tournament earlier on Thursday. But he was not about to let that happen to the Bears against Syracuse later in the Round of 64.
Mason and Baylor came out flaming hot — hitting on six of their first 10 three-point attempts.
That included Mason going full Stephen Curry and draining a three from the logo as the shot clock was expiring.
This wasn’t luck. Mason lined it up perfectly. His motion was tremendous. And the end result was nothing but net.
Tied with Tristan Clark as Baylor’s leading scorer heading into the tourney, Mason is looking to help his team to a win over a higher-seeded Orange squad. With shots like this, that might just happen.
