Running back Malcolm Brown will be sticking around with the defending NFC champion Los Angeles Rams for at least the next two seasons.
Days after signing a two-year, $3.25 million restricted free-agent offer with the Detroit Lions, the Rams have decided to match said offer.
This means Brown will be heading back to Southern California to back up All-Pro back Todd Gurley. Prior to suffering a season-ending clavicle injury in 2018, Brown averaged 4.9 yards per rush.
His injury paved the way for the Rams to sign veteran C.J. Anderson off the streets. Anderson responded by putting up nearly 600 rushing yards and four touchdowns in five games.
He’s expected back with the Rams, which would set up a nice trio in the backfield.
